Grades close on November 5th. You still have a week's worth of grades that I will add to your average. Do your homework and study for quizzes etc this week. Every little point counts!!

Good afternoon from the boiling room of 217A! I cannot believe it is October and it is this humid in my room! I am glad you all survived. Hopefully the air will be flowing tomorrow.
Period 2 - no homework, bring Animal Farm tomorrow. We are going to work on skills to enhance your critical reading skills. Smartboard!
Period 3 - Word Wealth sheet - 2.4 - Bring Death of a Salesman to class with you as well. We will go over Vocab, work on close reading of Death of a Salesman, and then hopefully have some time to read in class!

Periods 3 & 7 - Your homework is to write a paragraph about the most recent conflict you have had with someone, preferably a parent or other adult you are close to. We will go over the new vocab words for your next quiz tomorrow, so please bring your Word Wealth book.
Period 6 - You should write 20 original sentences for Unit 4 tonight. We will continue to work on our Webquest tomorrow, as well as go over the vocab words for the next unit.

Periods 2 & 5 - Great discussions today about characterization. We will continue this tomorrow and also work on some writing. Make sure you have read through Chapter 4 of Animal Farm by class tomorrow.
Periods 3 & 7 - I hope you enjoyed UP! today, it definitely gives us another example of a Death of a Salesman type setting. Tomorrow we will continue reading the play or begin for period 7!
Period 6 - I really enjoyed our discussions today about parental pressure, as well as what Romeo and Juliet may have felt like since their parents forbid them to be together. Make sure you complete the worksheet in complete sentences for class tomorrow. We will discuss this sheet and then begin to read.

Welcome back after a beautiful fall weekend! I hope everyone enjoyed the weather once it stopped raining Friday night!
Periods 2 & 5 - Please finish chapter 3 of Animal Farm tonight. We will talk about characterization and the different Animals tomorrow. If you have not finished chapters 1 or 2, you should! We will have some reading check quizzes coming up!
Periods 3 & 7 - Read the italicized portion of pages 1 & 2 of Death of a Salesman. It is only about a page and a half and we will talk about it in class tomorrow. There is much to discuss about the setting of this play. We will hopefully be able to begin reading in class tomorrow as well.
Period 6 - Sorry our discussion got cut short by my technological issues! We will continue to talk about the prologue tomorrow and hopefully begin to read finally!
Lastly, please be sure to clean up after yourselves in my classroom. I have been noticing a lot of wrappers and scrap papers on the ground. This is a classroom. Please be respectful of that. You should be able to clean up after yourselves. I should not have to do it and neither should the custodian. As long as we are all cleaning up, it should stay nice and neat in 217A!

Periods 2&5 - Please read chapter 2 in Animal Farm this weekend. Pay attention to the established rules. What do you think happened to the milk at the end of the chapter?
